bought this go-kart last november as a (non insured) write off. the previous owner had driven it into the back of a 4x4. turns out he wasn't insured as he hadn't declared his modifications so he put it up for sale on the clubpolo forum.
2 days later i was trailering it back from northampton. stored it in my mate's lockup for a few months whilst i collected all the parts needed. ended up buying a complete donor car, which on stripping the front end turned out not to be good enough so have been selling averything i can cut off that to pay for other projects.
in the end i drove down to derby one evening and cut the front off another car that was getting scrapped, and a deadline of being ready in time for the
Beatherder Festival was set.
the old front end was cut off and a new one grafted on. then the
Unit 21 boys saw the project taking shape and said they wanted to paint it (they turn out some show stopping work) so who was i to argue.
been fitting up all the ne front end parts over the last couple of weeks - luckily the engine block came out of the crash unscathed, but everthing forward of that (radiator, headlights, grill, bonnet, bumper etc had been foobed.
dropped it off for the test yesterday and got it taxed just before the postoffice shut.
so this morning i've been finding out which speedbumps on the way to school i can't get over without scraping the floorpan
